President's Letter-September 2019

Greetings WAMA members, corporate members, friends and supporters!

Well, it seems we are struggling with not quite wanting to give up on summer but know full well that Fall is on its way.

The first half of our year was chock full of events from our IA renewal in February as well as our dinner meetings sponsored by Safe Flight, Gulfstream, Duncan Aviation, a poolside BBQ sponsored by Honeywell, to our 59th annual golf outing in July.  The highlights of the golf outing can be found on the 2019 Golf Event page where you'll find the winners and photos.  We are  again honored to have supported our featured charity, Corporate Angel Network (CAN) and thanks to you, we raised over $650 where the proceeds went directly to CAN.  ...Of course this all could not have happened without the generous support of our loyal sponsors year after year.

As we move in to Fall, our upcoming events will begin with Collins Aerospace moving their original presentation in September to sponsoring our October meeting, so mark your calendars for October 10th.  Additionally, we are promoting the first Northeast Leadership Workshop being held October 8th, 9th, 10th at the Mt Kisco Holiday Inn.  Email blasts describing the 3 day event have been sent out to all members on our contact list.  Here is the link (https://dleadershipgroup.com/nealw) in case you did not receive the blast or you are not on our contact list.  It is actually two separate workshops brought to you by the Daedalus Group  and designed specifically for aviation professionals as an intensive exploration of proven techniques for better leadership in aviation. It is certified by the National Business Aviation Association to meet all leadership objectives (L1 – L5) for the Professional Development Program.  Thanks to our generous sponsors, EJM, Stevens Aerospace, Dassault Aviation and AVMATS, WAMA members will receive a 20% discount for class admission.

Moving towards November and December, our loyal sponsors of Textron and Dassault Aviation will again take us to the end of the year.

In 2020, WAMA will turn 60 years old!!

Stay tuned for news of a 60th Gala event in 2020 celebrating this important milestone.

Ok, I hope to see each and everyone of your at our next event!  We welcome newcomers and guests at all our events.

See you soon and enjoy Indian summer!!

Sincerely,

Jody Kerton
